| The Best Main DAW Software For Your Home Recording Studio | | Print | |
This article is not a review of all the DAW (digital audio workstation) programs on the market, so the choices are limited to what I feel are the two very best DAW programs available. Pro tools is the industry standard in DAW software. I'd have to say at least 65% of all recording studios, and EVERY major recording studio has Pro tools. The advantage of using Pro tools is you can easily put your entire Pro tools session on a DVD and take it to another studio for mixing, if needed. Note: You need a Pro tools audio interface if you buy Pro tools software.
BOTH programs you can hard disk record, mix music, add in effects and EQ (some plugins included), midi sequence songs. They both can do it all. If all you're going to do is record and mix, buy Pro tools. If you're going to make music with a midi keyboard and samples, and record/mix, buy Cubase SX 6. Related Articles
