| The Best Computer For Your DAW Home Recording Studio | | Print | |

The first, and main component of the DAW (digital audio workstation) home recording studio is a computer. You have two format choices, Mac or PC. If you choose a Mac, only Apple makes them so the choice is easy. If you choose a PC, there are dozens of different companies. I recommend going with a PC because most people you meet will be using a PC. If you wanted to share anything (sounds, sequences, etc.) with someone, there's a better chance you'll be able too. If you decide on a PC, I recommend going with Dell. I can't speak for other Dell computer owners, but for myself personally, I've owned over 20 Dell computers over the past seven years and have never had a problem with any of them. I sold several of them a few years back and they're still all running strong. Note - Your only restriction here is that a few DAW software titles only work with a Mac. So if you decide to use one of these software titles, you must choose a Mac as your computer. Related Articles
